Bringing the Marginal into the Mainstream report now available!

The discussions and issues raised during the public roundtable hosted at King’s College London on 11 April 2018 (as part of Event 2) have been distilled into our report Bringing the Marginal into the Mainstream: Hidden Histories, Public Engagement and Lessons Learned from the Centenary of the First World War. With contributions from all our roundtable panelists – Rob Attar (BBC History Magazine), Suzanne Bardgett (IWM), Santanu Das (University of Oxford), Paul Kiem (History Teachers’ Association, Australia), Lucy Noakes (University of Essex) and Simon Young (BBC History) – we hope this document will serve as a useful reflection on attempts to integrate lesser known histories of the First World War into centenary commemorations 2014-2018 and the degree to which lessons could be learnt when thinking forward to the major anniversaries of the Second World War between 2019 and 2045. Further information about Event 2 can be found here.
